RUSSIAN folk songs and Russian Orthodox sacred music will be performed by the St Petersburg Blagovest Ensemble, at a concert held in St Peter’s Church in Wimblington on Sunday May 19 at 7.30pm.
Bringing part of a rich Russian musical tradition to Fenland, the five-strong ensemble perform intensely spiritual Russian Orthodox church music, alongside the zest for life and humour of Russian folk song.
Trained at St Petersburg Conservatoire, the five voices have enchanted UK audiences on previous tours.
