A WHITTLESEY church will hold a ‘celebration of flowers’ event this weekend to coincide with the town’s annual festival.

Following extensive refurbishment to its roof and supporting timbers and massive internal redecoration, St Andrew’s Church reopened in mid-June after being closed for eight months.

As a continuation of the reopening activities a ‘celebration of flowers’ event will be on display from 10am-4pm on Saturday.

The church will also be open on Sunday - the day of the Whittlesey Festival - from 11am-4pm for the floral delights and redecoration of the church to be viewed again.

In addition, during both days, there will be various organ recitals while the Park Lane School Choir will sing at the Parkinson’s Lane church on Sunday.
