Four steps to becoming a Best Employer

Best Employers starts with a free employee survey, to help understand and measure your organisations employee engagement. It helps you to gain clarity on how and where to focus.

1

Step one:

Sign up to a programme of virtual events and webinars, gaining access to the latest engagement content and access to inspiring leaders and speakers.

2

Step two:

Set your goals and implement the employee engagement survey throughout your organisation, which measures employee engagement, company culture and values. It is easy for employees to complete online and because it is 100% confidential it encourages open and honest answers.

3

Step three:

Each organisation receives a tailored report summarising the findings of the survey and an action plan with opportunities for further development. In addition, you can access valuable benchmark data, enabling a comparison to other organisations in the region.

4

Step four:

Top performing organisations will receive Best Employer awards, presented in the autumn. The winners are selected based on the employee feedback from the survey – so staff effectively vote for their organisation to win by sharing their experiences of what it is really like to work there. Organisations in the top quartile will be invited to apply for accreditations by submitting supporting evidence which is judged by a panel of advisers alongside the engagement scores from the survey.

The survey and reports

The Best Employers Eastern Region survey is extremely flexible.

You can use it as your primary source of employee engagement monitoring, as it is expertly designed to capture all the data you will need to monitor and evolve workplace culture.

Alternatively, you can use Best Employers alongside your regular employee surveys - combine elements to make your own bespoke survey completely customised to your organisation.

Key benefits include:

  • It is a confidential way for staff to share their views
  • It is customisable
  • It encourages honest answers
  • Gain dedicated support through your Best Employer Account Manager
  • Decide how many questions you would like to include – offer a five-minute pulse survey or a 20-minute detailed insight
  • It provides reliable and accurate information on your own organisation
  • It enables you to benchmark your results across the region and across similar sectors.

Three core sections to the survey:

  • Your employees

It gathers information on job level, salary banding, location, length of service and is customisable to your organisation.

  • Your organisation's priorities

This includes customisable questions relating to your organisation's key priorities, communication and learning and development opportunities.

  • Your culture and values

This section investigates how your employees perceive your organisation's culture, benchmarking your organisation to others across the region.

Each organisation then receives a tailored report summarising its culture, values and leadership style, and an action plan on what (if anything) could improve.
